Solidarity Accommodation

Looking for free accommodation in the community during your stay in Montreal for the World social forum 2016? Do you live in Montreal and want to support a WSF participant by welcoming him in your home? The Couchsurfing accommodation is a simple but efficient way to experience hospitality and sharing economy.

Couchsurfing accommodation – Subscribe to the Couchsurfing website that brings together a 50 000 members community ready to accommodate travellers in Montreal! When you subscribe, you can share your hospitality or write to available hosts in order to get an accommodation for your stay in Montreal. You can also share your offers and requests on the group World Social Forum Montreal 2016 – Couch Request that we have created to make an easier contact between hosts and guests. CouchSurfing is an opportunity to provide accommodation and to be welcomed in another’s home in an atmosphere of sharing and conviviality that encourages cultural and human exchange. Don’t delay to join the Couchsurfing event and above all, don’t hesitate to invite your friends to participate!

*Accessibility: if your apartment is accessible to people with reduced mobility or using a wheelchair (step-free and with enough space to move) and/or if you know a sign language, do not hesitate to write it in your home description to help our Deaf or disabled participants!

IMPORTANT : This type of accommodation may be inconvenient especially for visa applicants because CouchSurfing accommodations do not provide a reservation proof. The governmental services processing the visa applications require a confirmation document declaring the reservation of the accommodation for the complete duration of the stay. This document also represents another justification which proves that the traveller has a part of the necessary funds to support himself.
