Our 300 member organisations in 70 countries, and individual members, form a global network bringing together expertise and campaigning experience in a common cause. Formed in 1997 as a direct action collective, the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions (ICAHD) is devoted to seeking a just resolution for Israelis and Palestinians. Towards this end, ICAHD hones in on Israel’s policy of demolishing Palestinian homes as a vehicle for exposing how the Occupation works as a whole.
Since the original ICAHD branch was first established in Jerusalem, ICAHD gradually evolved into an organization with six regional centers that together resist Israeli policies and practices on the ground, mobilize partners in Palestine-Israel and abroad, provide critical analysis, and conduct political tours and lectures. The Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions-USA (ICAHD-USA) was born in 2004 of this international ICAHD network, acting as a support to grassroots resistance on the ground in Palestine-Israel. Today, in the spirit of BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions), rather than rooting our work in Palestine-Israel, we operate as a critical Israeli voice in the United States, deepening our cutting edge global advocacy efforts as we continue to amplify resistance in the trenches.

Few would have predicted when we started that torturers would become international outlaws. That most countries would abolish the death penalty. And seemingly untouchable dictators would be made to answer for their crimes.
