If you want peace, prepare for peace! Developing a United Nations system that can prevent armed conflict and protect civilians.

Discussion workshop
Aug 12 2016  9:00 - 11:30

The World Federalist Movement – Canada will hold an interactive forum on how UN peace operations can become more effective – and how Canada can contribute.

Canada’s new government has indicated an intention to contribute more to UN peace operations, but has so far done very little.

The UN system too often fails, in preventing armed conflict and protecting civilians. We may begin to understand the urgent need for a standing UN capacity, like the proposed United Nations Emergency Peace Service (UNEPS).
